Indoor switchgear cabinet, AC withdrawable switchgear cabinet KYN28-12
KYN28-12 Switchgear: Brief Introduction, Functions, and Correct Use

Introduction
The KYN28-12 is an indoor metal-clad draw-type switchgear for 3.6–12 kV three-phase AC power systems. It features an armored, fully enclosed structure with a main bus chamber, breaker chamber, cable compartment, and low-voltage control room. The core component is a VS1-type vacuum circuit breaker mounted on a removable trolley.
Main Functions
-
Circuit protection against overloads, short circuits, and earth faults via integrated relays or protection devices.
-
Load switching and isolation for safe maintenance.
-
Interlocking mechanism (mechanical and electrical) prevents incorrect operation, such as opening the panel under load or closing with grounding switch on.
-
Live display and grounding functions enhance personnel safety.
Correct Use
-
Installation: Place on a level indoor foundation with adequate ventilation and clearances per the manual. Keep the environment dry and dust-free.
-
Operation: Only use the matching trolley and grounding switch interlock sequence. Insert or withdraw the breaker only in the test/isolated position, not in the service position under load.
-
Inspection: Regularly check insulation condition, mechanical interlocks, and protection settings. Perform dynamic tests (closing/opening) annually.
-
Maintenance: Clean insulators, lubricate moving parts, and verify grounding continuity. Always follow the nameplate ratings (12 kV, rated current up to 4000 A, short-time withstand 40–50 kA).
Proper training and strict adherence to the manufacturer’s instructions are essential for safe, reliable operation.
