Combined transformer(American-style pad-mounted transformer)

A combined transformer, commonly known as an American-style pad-mounted transformer, integrates the Transformer body, high-voltage load switch, fuses, and auxiliary equipment into a single oil tank, providing fully insulated and sealed construction.

   
Advantages: Its compact design occupies only about one-third the volume of a European-style Substation, significantly saving space. The fully sealed, insulated structure ensures high safety and is essentially maintenance-free. It offers flexible power supply modes for both loop and terminal configurations.

 
Disadvantages: Arc contamination from load switch operations may degrade insulating oil. Limited high-voltage functions make automation upgrades difficult, and single-unit capacity is generally restricted to 630 kVA or below.
